California Prune Board heads to prestigious Gulfood event

The California Prune Board (CPB) is exhibiting at this month’s Gulfood, the world’s largest annual showcase for the food and drink industry. The event takes place from 13th-17th February 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with thousands of food professionals and exhibitors attending from across the globe.

The CPB is on show in the USA pavilion, alongside the very best of the country’s food and drink, and agricultural products. Esther Ritson-Elliott, Director of International Marketing and Communications for the CPB says: “The California Prune Board is delighted to be taking part in this year’s event, where we will have an interactive stand showcasing why the world comes to California for its prunes.

“Gulfood 2022 is set to be a real success and will allow us to renew existing relationships and develop new ones face-to-face.”

With growing consumer interest in natural foods that are beneficial for health, California Prunes represent a real opportunity for food manufacturers and retailers looking to turn trends into sales. Esther adds: “California Prunes are a good source of vitamins and minerals such as fibre, vitamin K, and vitamin B6, which play a role in maintaining gut and bone health, and the immune system. They’re also extremely versatile in use; as a snack, as an ingredient for home cooks, food manufacturers, and chefs, and even as a sugar alternative in baked goods.”

Thanks to exceptional growing conditions and high agricultural standards, California is a reliable source of prunes, with consistently sized products renowned for their premium quality and taste. “It’s this provenance, coupled with the high standards and passion of our growers, that make California the world’s leader in prunes,” concludes Esther.

Representatives from the California Prune Board will be on hand to welcome all visitors to stand S3-G51 in the US Pavilion, Sheikh Saeed Hall 3. If you’d like to pre-book an appointment with the team for a specific time, please contact the CPB at global@californiaprunes.net
